Jessica Welman — Bio And Media Credits

Jessica Welman is the New Markets Director for the network of Play-branded sites, including PlayIA.com. She has been covering the gambling beat since 2008, working with the World Poker Tour, World Series of Poker, Bluff Magazine and The Big Lead, to name a few.

She has previously served as the editor-in-chief for PlayUSA, PlayPennsylvania, and, most recently, PlayIndiana and PlayTenn. During her time as a writer and editor, she reported on a number of state online gambling launches.

A graduate of the University of Southern California film school, Welman also received a masters in communication and culture from Indiana University. She is well-versed in all facets of gambling news but is best known for her expertise around betting on the Academy Awards.
