Iowa Lottery win

A man in the town of Davenport, Iowa, walked into a gas station in the first couple weeks of April and had his entire life change in an instant.

While most people walk into a gas station and walk out with a snack, drink, or more money spent on gas, Justin Strother walked out with a winning Iowa Lottery ticket, one that held the power to change everything for him and his family.

What is even more incredible is the fact that days earlier in the week, Strother had prophesized his own winnings via the Iowa Lottery, a seemingly impossible series of events.

Details of prophetic Davenport man’s massive lottery win

When Strother walked into As Food and Gas in Davenport, Iowa – which sits just 80 miles away from Chicago, Illinois – he had already prophesized what was ahead for him. He already knew that he was going to hit the jackpot and win himself an incredible sum of money.

Three days earlier, and for every day that followed, Strother told his coworkers he was going to hit the top prize and change his life. As people doubted his claims, Strother continued to say he was going to win.

Then, two days later, Strother walked into 2365 Rockingham Road in Davenport, Iowa, and within the first two weeks of the release of a new Iowa Lottery game, he claimed one of their top prizes of half of a million dollars.

“I work with two guys. I told them, just joking around, ‘I’m going to go buy one and I’m going to hit the top prize,’” Strother said Tuesday as he won the first of six total top prizes of half of a million dollars that are available in the Iowa Lottery’s new scratch game. “I told them that for three days straight. And then I went and did it. I called them and I said, ‘You’re not going to believe me, but I hit the top prize.’”

For the rest of the day, Strother used the Iowa Lottery app to tell and show all of his loved wins that he was right all along. Somehow, despite the odds, his prophetic claim that he was going to win the top prize came true.

Strother is 33 years old and is a self-employed flooring installer. He called his winnings a “restart button” and told OurQuadCities.com that he and his wife have a plan to buy a house with three bedrooms for their family, purchase a new truck, and also buy a camper.

“It’s a re-start to life,” he said. “It’s going to be debt-free for sure!”

What game did Strother play that led to his lottery win?

To add to just how improbable this entire situation was, the game that Strother played and won had been released just a single week earlier, and despite only having a week’s worth of activity, Strother won one of six of the top prizes of $500,000.

The game is known as the $500,000 Ca$h game, and it is a new release from the Iowa Lottery that launched on April 4. There are six top prizes of $500,000 available. It took less than a week for Strother to claim one of them.

To play the $500,000 Ca$h game from the Iowa Lottery, one must purchase the scratch ticket game for $50. Then, the player of the game takes his scratch ticket game and attempts to match up numbers in the playing area. Prizes vary from $50 to the top prize. The odds of claiming a winner are 1 in every 3.09 plays.

There are still five top prizes of half of a million dollars for the $500,000 Ca$h game, and the scratch ticket games are available throughout the state of Iowa.
