NBA Finals betting in Iowa is about to get hot.
Just two teams remain in Orlando to play for the NBA Championship. Wagering on the series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat could be extra rewarding for Iowa sports bettors this year.

Right now, the Lakers are a -215 favorite to take Game 1, with the spread sitting at -5 (-110) for Los Angeles. The Lakers are also a -400 favorite to win the series at DraftKings.
Props for Wednesday night’s Game 1 at 8:10 p.m. CST on ABC include:

- First to listed points
- Team totals
- Game to go to overtime
- Odd/even final score
DraftKings also offers a couple of ready-made parlays for Game 1. One combines the moneyline and total while the other combines the spread with the total.
Taking Miami to win and either the over or the under carries odds of +400 right now, for example. While DraftKings is confident that Los Angeles will take this game and series, there’s reason to possibly hesitate on paying up for the Lakers at the current odds.
The Heat is on
The Heat have dropped just two games — one in overtime — during the playoffs this year. Additionally, they arguably match up against Los Angeles better than any of their other foes.
Defensively, Miami seems to have the talent necessary to slow down the Lakers’ Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Bam Adebayo has been one of the best interior defenders in the playoffs this year, for example.
If the Heat can limit Los Angeles’ stars enough to let their offensive firepower provided by Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson execute, this series could be much closer than DraftKings predicts.
