For Big Ten fans, Iowa sports betting was a bummer in the fall of 2020. They couldn’t use college football betting promos on games like Iowa–Iowa State because the conference canceled its non-conference slate.
It’s one of the nation’s premier conferences, and it didn’t take the field until late October.
Pre-Halloween over pre-Labor Day? Boo!
Fast-forward 10.5 months later, and No. 18 Iowa still starts its schedule with a conference game. Iowa’s top 25 matchup with No. 17 Indiana is part of a full schedule this time.

Sportsbooks have college football promos ready
DraftKings drops the college hammer
An old friend is back for one of the best matchups of the season.
DraftKings Sportsbook wants Iowa customers to “hammer the over” for the No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 5 Georgia game. All DraftKings users can bet the over on the 6:30 p.m. game Saturday in Charlotte.
For every 2,500 customers who bet the over, the DraftKings will lower the point total needed in the game by half a point. Sportsbooks have the total for that game right now. It will be lower at DraftKings as long as bettors keep hammering.
Pick your side college football promo at PointsBet
PointsBet Sportsbook gives its Iowa customers a fun way to start the season. It’s called “pick your side on the house booster.”
Customers can visit PointsBet for the following wager:
- Iowa to score 1+ point vs. Indiana (+100).
- Iowa State to score 1+ point vs. Northern Iowa (+100).
The maximum bet is $10.
Iowa’s status as a top 25 team unlocks another PointsBet promotion as well.
The sportsbook is offering +100 “no juice” spreads on every top 25 college football game. The no juice markets can be parlayed. It’s not available for live betting, however — pregame only.
PointsBet will add the win to your account for future bets, but you won’t be able to cash it out.
Speaking of parlay bets, PointsBet has a 4+ leg parlay offer for college football. If the parlay falls short, PointsBet will give Iowa customers up to $20 back. All of the parlay legs have to be on college football and they have to add up to +100 or longer.
Sign-up offer for new Unibet customers
To mark its arrival, Unibet has a special offer for new betting customers in Iowa.
Bet a minimum of $5 on the Iowa or Iowa State moneyline this weekend and get $50 if your team scores a touchdown in the game.
Iowa included in V for Victory college football promo
Caesars Sportsbook also has a 4+ leg parlay offer called “Parlay Diem.” It’s the same idea as PointsBet with slightly different numbers.
Customers can get a $25 bonus bet if a parlay adding up to +300 or more falls through.
Caesars also wants to see if fans of college football promos can go 5-for-5 in the “V for Victory” offer. Bet at least $50 on the following games this weekend:
- Alabama–Miami (FL)
- Indiana–Iowa
- West Virginia–Maryland
- Navy–Marshall
- Central Michigan–Missouri
Anyone who wins all five wagers will receive a $500 bonus bet.
BetMGM also ready to parlay
What are the offers at BetMGM Sportsbook? Hey, a parlay promo!
The app with a lion would like Iowa customers to try its “One Game Parlay” feature through Jan. 10.
Customers begin the offer with a $25+ One Game Parlay bet on any college football game. They can receive a $10 bonus bet to use on any sport. BetMGM will issue bonus bets to customers once a week regardless of the parlay outcome.
Indiana vs. Iowa college football odds
The Indiana-Iowa game is just one of five top 25 matchup on the Saturday before Labor Day.
BTN has the 2:30 p.m. game from Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. Experts at sportsbooks in Iowa give the Hawkeyes a spread.
Iowa dropped its first two games in 2020, then went on a six-game winning streak to earn an invite to the Music City Bowl in Nashville. Their bowl opponent, Missouri, let the COVID-19 virus get away from them so the game was called off. The Hawkeyes are 18-4 in season openers under Kirk Ferentz, but the opening opponent isn’t usually a top 25 conference foe.
Indiana also went 6-2 and many Hoosier fans think they deserved Iowa State’s Fiesta Bowl spot after a 6-1 regular season. They fell to Ole Miss 26-20 in the Outback Bowl.
