History of WinnaVegas Casino Resort

WinnaVegas opened its doors in April 1992. Since then, the property has expanded and gained a reputation as one of the best casinos in the area.

The casino opened a new hotel in 2012, featuring 78 rooms and plenty of non-gambling amenities. The 1,500-seat entertainment center opened in 2013, and the casino launched a poker room in 2014.

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska operates the resort. The tribe’s roots date back to 500 BC in northwest Kentucky. The tribe arrived in Nebraska in the 19th century.

The Winnebago Tribe is federally recognized. It makes one part of the Ho-Chunk Native American people, with the other being the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin. The historical language of the Winnebago Tribe is part of the Siouan family.
