After the Black Hawk County Gaming Association lobbied for opening a casino in this area of Iowa, Isle Casino Waterloo finally started doing business on June 30, 2007, with development costs of just over $100 million. The casino was initially operated by the Isle of Capri Casinos acquired by Caesars Entertainment (named Eldorado Resorts) in 2017.
